Family Living
Mission:
UW-Extension Family Living Programs enrich families and strengthen communities. Backed by university research, we work for Wisconsin families by:
- Helping communities respond to issues such as childhood obesity, financial security, and aging.
- Providing leadership for policies that help children, youth and families succeed.
- Increasing knowledge about parenting, health and nutrition.
- Offering consumers and families more strategies for managing their money.
- Reaching out to diverse families with education and resources.
- Using cost effective approaches to reduce negative family issues and build more resilient families.
UW-Extension and the UW-Madison maintain a Food Safety and Health website with food safety and preservation information that is available at: http://www.foodsafety.wisc.edu.
We invest in people to grow stronger communities. For more information on Family Living Programs, go to http://www.uwex.edu/ces/flp and visit us on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/UWExtensionFamilyLiving.
Information is shared on issues affecting family members to help them make decisions about:
- Parenting Programs
- First Years Last Forever
- Positive Parenting Toolkit
- Supporting Children During Divorce
- Feeding Young Children – Information and Parent Pointers
- Foghorn Newsletter
- Parenting Newsletters – The Family Living Education Program distributes two age-paced newsletters. Parenting the First Years is distributed to all families of newborn children in the county. In 2001, the 230 families received the newsletter. The Kewaunee County Department of Human Services provides financial support for this project.
