WEDNESDAY, October 25th
10:00-11:00 AM Pre-Conference Group Bike Ride: Bring your bike or rent one in Sheboygan for a comfortably paced (all skill levels welcome!) group ride taking in the sights of The Sheboygan Project: a street-art movement that has brought more than a dozen murals to Downtown Sheboygan.
11:00-11:45 AM Pre-Conference Measuring Market Potential Workshop: (Limited to the first ten registered attendees!): Accurate estimates of demand and supply can support business development efforts in your downtown. If demand exceeds supply in a certain category, the difference can demonstrate market opportunity for business expansion or recruitment. Unfortunately many market studies use reports provided by data firms that may not focus on downtown’s ability to penetrate the market. This small work group session will provide you with the ability to conduct a more accurate demand and supply analysis for various retail, service, and restaurant categories. Pre-registration required – limited to the first ten registered attendees.
12:00-4:00 PM Downtown Summit – Day 1: We start with lunch and work sessions in the historic Sheboygan Theater, a downtown gem painstakingly preserved and reopened as the Stefanie H. Weill Center. We couldn’t think of a more perfect venue to start the conversation about the creative economy and historic preservation. Later that afternoon, we’ll head off for our Mobile Workshop on Sheboygan’s Creative Economy – visiting the new 8th Street Alleyway mural, Sheboygan Arts Green and ending with a tour of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.
6:00-8:00 PM VIP Welcome Reception at the Berkshire: After settling into your hotel, we’ll regroup at The Berkshire: Sheboygan’s industrial urban loft event space for a VIP welcome reception for all registered Downtown Summit attendees. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served for attendees and a cash bar will be available.
THURSDAY, October 26th
6:30-7:00 AM Morning Yoga and Meditation Flow: Get your day started with a 30-minute beginner yoga and meditation class at Blue Harbor Resort featuring instructor Marci Toursey, owner of downtown studio YogaLoft Sheboygan. A limited number of yoga mats will be available at no charge.
8:00 – 4:00 PM Downtown Summit – Day 2: Hosted at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, Day 2 starts with breakfast and our 2017 keynote speaker, Bernice Radle. On Day 2 you will take in two keynote presentations, three breakout sessions and still find ample time for professional networking. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments are included for attendees on Thursday. Plan on staying until 4:00 PM – you won’t want to miss our door prize giveaways – our Wisconsin themed gift basket raffles are one of the most popular features of the Downtown Summit!
